Thursday Thoughts
42June 7, 2012 by Katie
Hey everyone!!! It’s THURSDAY! Which means that it is almost FRIDAY!!!! Yayyyy!!! Haha honestly I felt like today was Thursday all day. That’s what you get for starting your job on a 4 day week… Ahhhhh. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving my internship. It’s just that I finish lunch around 12, and have 5 hours left with nothing to break it up. I’m really hoping I get asked along to a meeting or two today or tomorrow. It would be so nice to get away from my desk just for a bit!
Well, another Thursday means another round of Thursday Thoughts! Per usual they are all over the place! Some from my brain and some from this weekend’s limited pinterest browsing.
- How cool is this key!? If I actually had the ambition to do this, I would so cover my keys in glitter! Anyone want to do it for me?
2. I’m pretty sure the lawyer I share my office with must think I’m crazy. I drink insane amounts of water and am constantly leaving to fill up my water bottle or use the restroom. If I time it to do all that in one trip, rather than going at different times, I feel like I’ve succeeded at something…
3. I signed up for the Chicago Rock N Roll Half Marathon!!!! They had a $20 special yesterday for National Running Day so I decided to go for it! I wanted to do a half sometime in July/August anyway for my training, and I’m excited to be doing a Rock N Roll Race after hearing so much about them! Who’s doing it with me!??
4. Another DIY project! I love sampling different kinds of cheese (thanks to my mother’s upbringing, I spent more time in Better Cheddar than I’d care to share) and this would be a great way to remember which is which!
5. Tomorrow is a VERY SPECIAL birthday. Can anyone guess whose it is?
6. Yesterday I went on a 4 mile run before work and for part of it I wound through the zoo. The polar bear was out PLAYING. Yes, PLAYING. It was probably one of the coolest things I’ve seen. Here’s a video of a just a snippet. He was so ridiculously cool. And cute.
7. I really want to run a race in Alaska now! I spend way too much time looking at that map… Actually, I already have the goal of going to all 50 states (I’ve been to 30!), maybe I should do a race in all 50 states!
8. This is something I’m really working on! I see other women and think, if I were just that thin, or just that good of a runner, or just that smart or successful, then I would be so happy! But those things don’t make you happy, YOU decide to be happy.
Are you a fan of sampling cheeses?
Do you find yourself putting others on a pedestal and comparing yourself?

Tomorrow is my birthday too!!! Yay for June 8th!!
Happy almost birthday!
You too! I’ll give you a happy birthday shout out on my blog tomorrow
It’s not my birthday!!!!
That key is so cute! Love it!
And I looove cheese!
Haha who doesn’t?!
over the years, I have learnt I am happiest when I don’t compare myself to others
it takes A LOT of practice, but I’ve been quite successful
I love that DIY project! LOVE!
Is it YOUR birthday??
I’m a June baby too!
Nope, not my birthday!
Love that key! And I totally compare myself to others. It’s something that I definitely need to work on! YAY for birthdays
I wish I had a craft store near by, then I might actually do that to my key!
I love cheese! Probably too much, it’s my biggest food weakness
Happy early birthday!
It’s not my birthday!!!
30 states?? Wowza! I’ll have 6 of the 50 states down by the end of this year….long way to go! Which has been your favorite so far?
That’s a really hard one… Probably FL? But I loved SC too! And CO! Ahhh too hard.
i used to compare myself to other women a LOT! i still catch myself doing it from time to time, but i’ve gotten better at it in the past year or so. i love that quote! and is tomorrow YOUR birthday?!?!?
Nope! My birthday is in October! Haha look at my Facebook!
Love that glitter key!! I so want to try it
I’m guessing tomorrow is either your birthday or (and this was my first though) Molly’s birthday!
That would be so cool to do a race in Alaska! I’ve been twice and it’s one of my favorite places. I can’t wait to go back!
Ahhhhh I’m so jealous that you’ve been to Alaska!
A compare way too often and it is certainly not happy. Love cheese and I love that idea. I also saw painting pots that chalkboard paint and then you can label what the plants or seeds are.
Ooo I like the pot idea!
I saw that key on pinterest and I’m totally going to try to do it for my new house key!
I hope it turns out well!
Love trying out new cheeses. And I can’t believe you get to run through a zoo-Chicago is pretty cool
There are several entrances and the zoo is free! I love it!
ahh love the polar bear! so cute!
I know, how cool is he?!
I really love that chalkboard cheese tray idea!! That would make a great gift too
Ooo yes! My mother would love that!
Anything is better with glitter- that key is awesome! How does the glitter stay on though?
I don’t remember, you can find it on my pinterest page if clicking on the photo doesn’t work
I’ll be running the Chicago Rock n’ Roll half! It will actually be my first!
Yay!!!! How exciting!!
I think so many of us can relate to number eight, you have a great approach to it. Nice job!
Thank you, Alex!!
First of all, yay for the RnR half!!!! In running it too and am so pumped. I hear great things about it and Im sure it will live up to all the hype!
Second, I’m the exact same way at work. No joke, I go to the bathroom at least 6 times during the work day. And I bring my water bottle each time.
oh yay!!! We’ll both be rocking it!
I LOVE the quote. Ever since I was a little girl my father told me to pretend I was a race horse with blinders on. Don’t worry about the “competition,” with others around you. Have your goal, look straight ahead, and go for them.
Your dad is a smart man!
I just have a goal to run in all 50 states, doesn’t have to be a race. It’s cheaper that way
Also, I LOVE the polar bear at the LP zoo. Love him! I could sit and watch him all day. Thanks for taking and sharing the video.
Oooo that’s a good idea! haha MUCH cheaper!
I’m so sad that I can’t do the Chicago Rock and Roll Half. It is on my bucket list but I am in class that day. Total Bummer. Enjoy the racing season!
awww sad! There’s always next year, or another Rock N Roll!
