Thursday Thoughts

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope you are all having a good week, only two days left until the weekend! I’m excited for today (okay, to get through today) because I get to see this amazing woman tonight! I’m sure you could have guessed it; today is another round of Thursday Thoughts! I have a lot of interesting ones this week, and only the last is pinterest inspired!

1. When I was at Trader Joe’s on Saturday I saw that they are FINALLY carrying Chia seeds! The bag was actually pretty small, so I’m not sure if it’s really that good of a deal, but it’s a great way for those of you who haven’t tried Chia seeds to get them without spending $13 on a larger bag.

2. I miss waking up to this:

3. I have been obsessed with protein ice cream and making various flavors. This one had PB2 powder and cocoa powder in it – BEST FLAVOR YET! Soooo good! Definitely tasted both the peanut butter and the chocolate! I also learned from Laura that you can use water instead of milk and it turns out the same (and is CHEAPER! I was going through milk too fast!)

4. Last Friday there was NO ONE in my office. Seriously. One person out of the 12 lawyer section I work in was there… So I made a standing desk for a while. It was good entertainment.

5. I am obsessed with this book. It finally became available at the library and I cannot stop reading it!!!! Seriously, what is this annoying place I have to go to during the day called an “internship” when I should be reading non-stop!?!?

6. I discovered this site thanks to this lady and lost about an hour of my life. Sooooo worth it. Love Kristen Wiig.

7. Molly loves to “hunt” bunnies. By “hunt” I mean stare at them intently for 10 minutes. I gave up trying to pull her away and just sat down next to her.

8. Zucchini oatmeal rocks. I made my regular apple pie oats, but instead of putting in chopped apple, I put in zucchini! It’s best to grate the zucchini, but I had spiralized my zucchini to make zucchini pasta but discovered the zucchini was a bit too old for that and didn’t hold a good pasta shape. So I put it in my oatmeal and added in some walnuts as well! Zucchini Bread Oats!

9. You all are amazing. Seriously. The comments and e-mails that I get from readers mean the world to me. I made this blog to connect to anyone who might relate to me and parts of my life, but I had no idea how many women would appreciate my writing.

Since you all make me feel so much better during a difficult time, I want to make you all feel better today with some great pinterest finds. Mostly stolen from Ashley and Annette

Just laugh!

Always be thankful

What is your favorite thing to wake up to?

Do you stand or sit at work?

Great motivational stuff there! I love waking up to rain 😀 And getting to go back to bed because that means I can’t meet my pal for a swim at 6:30am at the outdoor pool. And then not being able to sleep but having time to read blogs and online shop before work… 🙂

That’s so exciting that TJ’s has chia seeds! At first I thought they were a fantastic deal, but you’re right, the weight per package is much lower than with othe brands.

Your Molly looks so sweet “hunting” her bunnies! My Sheltie would be chasing after them as soon as she saw them. The joys of having a herding dog. 🙂

I think something is wrong with me. I LOVED Divergent but for some reason I can’t get into Insurgent. I read half of it and haven’t gone back to it in months!

  4. Elyssa

i read the divergent and insurgent books. SO GOOD! someone told me that if you like those to also read the maze runner series.

I actually reviewed the Maze Runner series on my blog – click on reviews and it should be on the books list! I enjoyed them, but not quite as good as Divergent and Insurgent!

  5. Bethany @ Accidental Intentions

I sit all day at work, and it kinda drives me nuts. Although word on the street is barely ANYONE is coming into the office tomorrow, so maybe I’ll stand tomorrow haha. Slash, maybe I’ll go home at noon tomorrow 😛

Zucchini oatmeal – SUCH a good idea! I’m going to have to try that since they are so dirt cheap now.

Also – I really want to read Insurgent. I can’t believe the author is only 22!

lol I certainly wouldn’t wear heels, I’m a flats girl all the way! Haha I’d probably trip about 20 times an hour in heels… it’s embarrassing. haha

          1. healthhappinessandharmony

Lol I wore flats when I taught first because I was literally running around the room at times cleaning spills and squatting up and down from desks, but now that I teach fifth I feel like I have to, because otherwise some are taller than me! lol

My mom just sent me the same chia seeds in the mail! I ate them this morning with my oatmeal also. Amazing! I loved reading your about page also. My teammate and I just started a blog and we too are documenting our food and exercise daily. And we are also fans of Carrots’n’cake!

I love zucchini bread oats. Oh She Glows has an awesome recipe for them!

I have to sit at work but I do force myself to get up and move around as much as possible.

    Happy Thursday!

Ah! TJ’s has chia seeds! I’ve been dying to try them but I can’t find them in any regular grocery. Now I need to make the 4 hour trek home to get them!

I stand at work as I am a dance teacher. I hate to just sit so it works well for me. I’d definitely try your standing method if I worked in an office.

my fav thing to wake up to is my boyfriend putting our jack russel on the bed next to me to snuggle me 🙂 also, wanted to say u look really pretty standing at your desk! i’ve always wanted a desk job, but now i’m reading these infographics about how sitting is killing us – yikes! ps, loving the kristen wigg tumblr!

    1. peaceloveandoats Post author

oh i don’t actually have a standing desk! I just tried to create one when I was the only person in the office and no one saw how ridiculous I looked!

  11. Cate

I stand up at work behind a desk all day at the spa. It took some getting used too, but I am really used to it now. I know it is probably better for me to than sitting all day long.
So glad you finally got Insurgent! I hate that we have to wait a whole year for the final book though…
Great tumblr too, those sites are so addictive and funny! 🙂

It’s definitely better! and um, finished Insurgent this morning and didn’t realize the next one isn’t coming out until Fall 2013… that’s so cruel.

  12. jessielovestorun

Love all of your motivational quotes. Thank you so much for sharing! I have been thinking about reading Insurgent. Let me know how you like it 🙂

    Have a wonderful weekend girl!

      1. jessielovestorun

Oh wow, you finished it quick. Thank you for the feedback on it. Just like I told you to add the tortillas to your grocery list, I’ll have to add it to my list of things to buy haha.
