Chocolate Oat Bran & BBC Week 1
32April 7, 2013 by Katie
Good morning everyone! I hope you’re all having a good weekend! Mine is going well, although I have to say my throat is not so happy – still not showing much improvement although I did get it checked and at least it’s not strep! Just have to ride it out I guess… obnoxious.
You know what makes up for it though? This AMAZING Chocolate Protein Oatbran I’ve been eating since spring break a few weeks ago! I made it every single day while I was there and I’m FINALLY sharing the recipe today! First though, let’s take a look at last week’s workouts and then what I have coming up for this week. As you all remember, I started Best Body Boot Camp at the beginning of last week and so far so good! My only complaint – my legs are SO SORE! Haha it makes running harder (as does my throat) so I ended up skipping out on a LOT of running/cardio this week.
Sunday – Workout A (strength) plus 20 minutes of steady state cardio
Monday – Cardio intervals (on the BBC plan)…

Weekly Workouts + Amaranth
31March 3, 2013 by Katie
Hey everyone, I hope you’re all having a good weekend!
As usual, today I’m going to recap last week’s workouts and let you see my plan for the upcoming week. I also have ANOTHER recipe for you all! I always say I’m not a recipe blog, but I just keep coming up with new ideas that I want to share! Granted they’re all smoothies and breakfasts…
Here’s a look at last week’s workouts:
Sunday – Total Strength class
Monday – 2.5 mile run + Jillian Michaels Video 3 mile run + 10 minutes sprints (too sore from strength class to do a JM video!)
Tuesday – REST I was in the mood to sweat, so I did JM Ripped in 30 level 2 and then did some zumba moves to a few songs for bonus cardio (aka danced around like a crazy person…)
Wednesday – 2.5 mile run + Jillian Michaels video 2 mile run + elliptical
Thursday – Zumba + Abs
Friday – Total Strength Class
Saturday – 3 4 mile run + cardio (elliptica…

Weekly Workouts & Eggy Polenta
27February 24, 2013 by Katie
Hey everyone, I hope you’re all having a great weekend! I’m having a good weekend, brunch with my cousin, shopping with friends and plenty of relaxing! Since it’s Sunday, it’s time for a look at last week’s workouts and what I have coming up this week. Plus, I’ve included a recipe that many of you requested!
First, here’s how I did with last week’s workouts:
Sunday – Total Strength class Jillian Michaels 6 Pack in 6 Weeks level 1 DVD and half of Jillian Michaels Level 1 Ripped in 30. After a late night, I was just not up for going to that strength class. I ended up hanging around my apartment for a bit and then doing one and a half videos (about 45 minutes) before heading over to Kelsey’s to watch the closet consultation. I switched those two runs around on Monday and Wednesday by accident (just didn’t remember what I was supposed to run).
Monday – 2.5 mile run 2 mile run + Jillian Michaels Video…

Weekly Workouts + Smoothie Recipe!
23February 17, 2013 by Katie
Hey everyone, I hope you’re all having a great weekend! Mine’s been pretty laid back (other than my great date night), lots of cleaning and school work. However, I’m hoping to get in some more quality friend time this afternoon!
Since it’s Sunday, it’s time to re-cap last week’s workouts and tell you my plan for this week. Many of you have asked about my IT band, and to do a quick re-cap it’s not really bothering me, but my right leg is in various areas (hip, foot, etc) which I’m hoping to get to the bottom of at my chiropractor appointment this Tuesday!
Here’s how I did with last week’s workout plan:
Sunday – Total Strength class
Monday – 2 mile run + cardio (elliptical or walking)
Tuesday – REST (have an early chiropractor appointment)…

Nutty Friends and Nutty Butter
57February 11, 2013 by Katie
Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend, I certainly did! If you missed it, here is my weekly workout roundup, posted yesterday.
On Friday I got lunch with a few friends, and afterwards walked around and did a little shopping. Well, Kelsey did shopping and I just found every way possible to look ridiculous:
I would like to note that Kelsey purchased that tiny hat.
On Saturday, Kelsey, Lindsay and I went out for lunch with Emily for her birthday! We had lunch at Tweet, where I ordered a Caprese omelet, and the most amazing gluten free cinnamon raisin bread (unpictured) on the side…

Recovery Smoothie & Some Laughs
52February 8, 2013 by Katie
Yia sas!
And happy Friday! (wasn’t sure how to say that in Greek…).
I found this link the other day that someone posted on Facebook from Buzzfeed. It’s called What It’s Like To Be A 20-Something As Told By “Mean Girls,” “Bridesmaids,” And “Girls”
Read it. Seriously. I was laughing out loud in my apartment, I hope my neighbors don’t think I’ve gone insane. It’s SO TRUE!!!!
This is my favorite gif from the sequence:
But now you’re like,
And…
I can’t stop laughing.
Aaaaanyhoo, today I have a recipe for you!
Did your jaw just drop to the floor? Yea, I know, it’s been a while. But don’t worry, it’s super simple: Peanut Butter Banana…

CHO-Cornbread and Dips
18December 31, 2012 by Katie
About a week ago I got a big shipment of yogurt from Chobani!
They have these big tubs, so you can either be more economical with your yogurt purchasing, or you can use them in cooking! Greek yogurt is a great substitute in cooking and you can see a TON of great recipes on Chobani’s recipe page.
I got to see Chobani used in a real restaurant when I went to the Chobani dinner this summer at Boka! My cooking isn’t quite that fantastic… but hey, it works! Since Sunday was game day (Chiefs vs. Broncos), I thought it would be appropriate to make a couple dips!
My mom always makes a french onion dip, that she gets from one of those dip mix bags at the grocery store. You’re supposed to add sour cream, but she substitutes some of the sour cream for Greek yogurt.

Pro-Ball and Pumpkin Pie
41October 19, 2012 by Katie
Hey everyone, Happy Friday! I hope you all have some fun plans for the weekend, I… don’t. Unless you call an MPRE Review Course that reminds me I have to take an ethics exam in 2 weeks which I have not even gotten the book for fun. Oops. But don’t worry, I was assured by several people that they studied only during the week before the exam. This will be fun!
Anyway, enough about my type-A personality falling to the wayside this month, let’s move on to more exciting things! I have a recipe to share with you all, but first I wanted to mention what I did Tuesday night: My first ever BULLS GAME!
While living in Chicago my hope is to take advantage of all the pro-sports. So far I’ve checked off the Cubs, the White Sox and the Bulls. Still need to get the Bears and Blackhawks in there…

WIAW–Class Free Monday
49October 17, 2012 by Katie
Goooooood morning! Today’s WIAW post comes from Monday – a day with no class! One of my teachers is out of the country so his class was cancelled Monday morning, meaning I had a nice, free morning. Sadly I wasn’t as productive as I’d hoped… but I did get some cleaning and some baking done! And a liiiiittle reading.
If you’re new to What I Ate Wednesday, check out Peas and Crayons to see what it’s all about and to see the other participating bloggers!
I started off my morning pretty lazily, reading blogs, posting my own and doing a little reading. I also cleaned my kitchen and made banana protein muffins from…
